sprejeli tudi kriminalni roman Kje je
otrok?
Prva knjiga iz tetralogije Ogenj, rit in kače niso za igrače, je
prišla med bralce leta 2013. Leta 2017 je sledil drugi del zbirke s podnaslovom
Babice, hčere, vnukinje. Leta 2019
so izšle Moške zgodbe. V času, ko je
izbruhnil covid, je nastala četrta: Poglejte,
moji ljudje prihajajo!
V štirih
knjigah je na okoli 1400 straneh zbranih več kot 4000 zgodb, ki jih je pisalo
resnično življenje. Knjige sodijo v kategorijo ''Citizen science'' in so v
slovenskem prostoru unikatne. Mileno, ki sebe imenuje poslednja zgodbarka, je
zanimalo predvsem življenje žensk znotraj družine, v odnosu do moža, otrok,
tašče. Zapisala je zgodbe o otroštvu naših prednikov, o trpljenju, pomanjkanju.
Sogovornice pa so ji zaupale tudi zgodbe o intimi.
Milena še
kar naprej zbira resnične zgodbe, saj želi zbirki dodati še peto in šesto
knjigo.

Milena Miklavčič (born in 1952) hails from Žiri. After completing her primary education, she enrolled in the Pedagogical Gymnasium in Ljubljana. At the age of twenty, she started a family and welcomed four children. In 1988, she joined the team at the local radio station Sora (Škofja Loka) as a freelance contributor and began writing for several local publications. She edited numerous anthologies for various associations and, together with Damijan Bogataj from Idrija, produced several segments for the "Pomagajmo si" show on TV Koper.
In 1999, as part of the Lifelong Learning Weeks, she received an award for her exceptional educational achievements and for enriching her knowledge through her work in collecting "field stories" for radio. For more than thirty years, she has been publishing "Fates" (true stories) in Gorenjski Glas and continues to write responses to various life questions for the Nedelo newspaper. Her columns can be read in the Reporter magazine, Domovina, and Portal24 (portal24.si). She also maintains a blog (jutri2052).
Her literary works include several children's books: "Abeceda iz Zakajčkove ulice," "Pri hrastu na levo" (named the best Slovenian self-published book in 2007), "Pika na B." (2008), "Šnitka" (2009), "Marička in medvedek" (2010), "Kdo je razdrl lastovičje gnezdo?," "Gal in lačne hruške" (2011), "Mali-veliki vrtnar" (2012), "Julia iz Zakajčkove ulice," "Ajda in čarovniške težave v pravljični deželi" (2018), "Kuharske prismodarije" (2021), and others. In 2004, her book "Fates" was published, followed by "Women" in 2011, which saw several reprints, the latest in an expanded edition in 2023. Her crime novel "Where is the Child?" was also well received.
The first book of her tetralogy "Fire, Ass, and Snakes Are Not for Play" was released to readers in 2013. It was followed by "Grandmothers, Daughters, Granddaughters" in 2017, "Men's Stories" in 2019, and during the COVID outbreak, the fourth book: "Look, My People Are Coming!" These four books, encompassing approximately 1,400 pages and over 4,000 stories drawn from real life, belong to the "Citizen Science" category and are unique in the Slovenian space. Miklavčič, who calls herself the last storyteller, was particularly interested in the lives of women within the family, in relation to their husbands, children, and mothers-in-law. She documented stories about the childhood of our ancestors, their suffering, and scarcity, as well as intimate tales confided to her by her interviewees.
Milena continues to gather real stories, intending to expand her collection with a fifth and sixth book.
